Bolero Tapas Bar and Grill

We were excited about trying one of the newer restaurant's in Oklahoma City, but at the end of the night we were disappointed. The atmosphere at Bolero is trendy and modern and it has a great view of the bricktown canal. If your looking for a fun place to have a couple of drinks this is a good option, but if your looking for an intimate dinner setting this isn't the place for you. We enjoyed a strawberry lemon martini and a gin and tonic. For dinner we decided to go for Tapas and soup. We had the onion soup and the chicken avocado and vegetable soup. The onion soup was over seasoned but the chicken avocado and vegetable soup was very tasty. Our soup was served luke warm and the tapas were not what we were expecting. The presentation of the food was appealing. We had Serrano wrapped prawns, three olive tapenade, and spicy chorrizo con queso blanco. The olive tapenade, which I enjoyed, is served on toasted slices of bread. The chorrizo is also served on toasted slices of bread with a creamy white cheese poured over the top. The dish was okay but nothing to be excited about. The prawns were wrapped in bacon and served on skewers. We found the prawns to be over cooked. Bolero also offers entrees that looked appeasing both on the menu and on the plate. That might be a better option when eating at this restaurant. There was a fewer number of tapas than i expected on the menu and we paid for the atmosphere, not for the food.
